LGLD2-4 Sliding Vane Pumps Ductile-Iron Multi-Purpose Pumps for Bulk Plants, Terminals and Truck Systems

As part of the Cavitation Line of sliding vane pumps, these LGLD pumps are ideal for applications including bulk plant service, multiple cylinder filling applications, vaporizers, bobtails and transports. All models have an internal relief valve, and a replaceable casing liner and end discs for easy rebuilding of the pumping chamber if ever necessary. In addition, these pumps feature cavitation suppression liners to reduce noise, vibration and wear.

Blackmer® LGLD2 pumps are often mounted to the chassis of a bobtail, or to a steel pad that is welded to the tank. The 3- and 4-in models can be mounted to a transport in a number of different ways, generally near or between the tank landing gear brackets.

Features and Benefits

  • Pumps are listed by Underwriters Laboratory for both LPG and anhydrous ammonia (NH3) service
  • Cavitation suppression liner design for reducing the noise, vibration, and wear normally caused by entrained vapors
  • Replaceable casing, liners and end discs allow easy rebuilding of the pumping chamber to like-new condition
  • Ductile-iron construction with internal relief valve
  • Durable pumps for fast and quiet operation, providing sustained performance and trouble-free operation
  • LGLD2 and LGLD3 models have double-ended drive shaft arrangement, popular for bobtail service
  • Blackmer mechanical seal and ball bearing construction provide maximum reliability
  • Symmetrical bearing support assures even loading and wear for long life
  • Capable of being mounted to a truck or chassis of a bobtail, or to a steel pad welded to the tank.
  • Internal relief valve protects pump against excessive pressures
  • External ball bearings are isolated from pumpage by mechanical seals to maximize bearing life and minimize contamination risk
  • Advantages of sliding vane technology:
    • Unique sliding-vane pump design self-adjusts for wear to maintain flow rates
    • Excellent self-priming and dry-run capabilities
    • Sliding vane design provides sustained performance and trouble-free operation
    • Easy maintenance: vanes can be easily replaced without removing the pump from the piping system
    • High suction lift and line-stripping capabilities
    • Low maintenance and low life-cycle costs
