Having the right tools for the job is a key difference in having a manageable or frustrating day at the factory. The transfer of refrigerants is no different; having the right transfer technologies is vital to avoiding a frustrating workday.

Refrigerants are specialty liquefied gases – usually a substance or mixture most commonly consisting of fluorocarbons – used in a refrigeration cycle that undergoes a phase transition from a liquid to a gas and back again. Refrigerants are produced at dedicated manufacturing facilities before they are transferred by railcar, truck, or container cylinder for commercial and residential use. Refrigerants can be constructed via many different recipes featuring many different chemistries. As such, they require pumping and compressing technologies compatible with the wide array of chemicals used in continuous-duty refrigerant manufacturing operations. Blackmer® offers refrigerant pumping solutions in the form of our sliding vane pumps and regenerative turbine pumps. Additionally, our reciprocating gas compressor technology can be used for vessel transfer of refrigerants and recover valuable refrigerant vapors preventing harmful emissions.

With requirements for explosion-proof and changing refrigerant regulations, the broad technology portfolio that Blackmer offers is a vital tool in maintaining compliance, solving challenging refrigerant transfer applications and having a manageable day at the factory.

CRL Sliding Vane Pump

Sliding vane pumps offer superior priming and suction capabilities, making them ideal for line stripping, complete evacuation of heels and superior lift. The pumps feature unique self-adjusting vanes that ensure a fast and consistent flow of refrigerants.

  • SGL Series – Designed with a cavitation suppression liner that mitigates the harmful effects of cavitation, the SGL Series offers a range of pump sizes designed for specialty liquefied gas (like refrigerants) transfer. Additionally, the 3- and 4-inch pump sizes feature optional double mechanical seals for a leak-free operation.
CRL Sliding Vane Pump

Provide efficient and quiet delivery of oil-free gas. These heavy-duty single- and two-stage stationary compressors combine advanced design technology and state-of-the-art materials. They are available in air-cooled or liquid-cooled models, with options for a single, double or triple seal.

  • HD Series – Provide efficient and quiet delivery of refrigerants. These heavy-duty single- and two-stage compressors combine advanced design technology and state-of-the-art materials to give maximum performance with minimum maintenance in railcar unloading and vapor-recovery applications.
CRL Sliding Vane Pump

Specifically designed and precision built for the high-pressure, low-flow and low-NPSHA transfer of refrigerant applications, the innovative impeller design optimizes hydraulic performance, resulting in high differential pressures even at low flow rates.

  • RC Series – Baseplate regenerative turbine pumps with flow rates up to 200 L/min.
  • HiFlow Series – Baseplate or truck-mounted high-flow regenerative turbine pumps can achieve flow rates up to 600 L/min.
