Clamped and bolted air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pump assemblies differ in their design, specifically how the manifolds and center section are assembled. Clamped AODD pumps have a set of large and small clamp bands that are tightened to keep the manifolds, air chambers and liquid chambers together. Bolted AODD pumps have a series of bolts and washers that hold the manifolds, air chambers and liquid chambers together. Selecting between clamped and bolted configurations depends on your application. For example, clamped designs are better suited for sanitary and clean-in-place (CIP) applications.
