Hygienic Series Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm Pumps for Hygienic and Sanitary Applications

Wilden Hygienic Series (HS) pumps are precision-engineered for maximum cleanability.

HS Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm (AODD) pumps are uniquely designed to meet high cleanliness requirements, with a free-draining flow path that enables clean-in-place (CIP) capability. The flow-through liquid-path design also eliminates any potential areas where product residue can be trapped to cause contamination.

Ideal for low-acid, pasteurized and protein-based products all the way up to biopharmaceutical sterile processes, HS pumps also meet the highest standards and requirements in the industry, including 3A, ATEX, EC 1935/2004 and FDA CFR 21.177.

Most Saniflo HS pumps come standard with ball valves, but other valve types, including flap and mushroom styles, are available for niche applications, such as processes with especially large solid inclusions or fluids that contain some entrained gas or vapor.

CIP pump stand

CIP Stand

For easy maintenance and cleaning, Wilden offers an optional swivel pump that enables draining by rotating the pump so the fluid flows out of the discharge and into a suitable container. The swivel stand also enables the pump to be drained without disassembly.

Pure-Fuse Diaphragms

Pure-Fuse Integral Piston Diaphragms are ideal for hygienic applications with a one-piece design that eliminates trap areas between the outer piston and the diaphragm. This design also eliminates the normal abrasive wear caused by the outer piston in a conventional configuration, resulting in a longer-lasting diaphragm. Additionally, Pure-Fuse offers clean-in-place (CIP) capability, superior flow and suction lift over competitors.

Available in 38 mm (1-1/2"), 51 mm (2") and 76 mm (3") sizes, Wilden Equalizer® Hygienic SD Series Surge Dampeners minimize unwanted pressure fluctuations by providing a supplementary pumping action to virtually eliminate pressure variation and pulsation on AODD pumps. The Equalizer automatically sets and maintains the correct air pressure to match variations in liquid flow or discharge pressure generated by the pump. They meet FDA and USP Class VI standards when configured with PTFE integral-piston diaphragms. They also meet ATEX requirements for use in explosive environments.

Electronic Accessories

Additional electronic accessories include Wil-Gard™, which detects and notifies plant personnel when a diaphragm has ruptured to prevent further damage to the pump, and the Pump Cycle Monitor (PCMI), which counts pump cycles by sensing the presence of the air valve spool.
