Wilden distributor Tetralon, located in São Paulo, Brazil, was recently presented with a challenge from a potential customer. The customer is in the pharmaceutical industry and pumps a high-viscosity ointment using a peristaltic hose pump. Due to the design of the peristaltic hose pump, the customer was questioned by their quality team for their inability to confirm if the inside of the hose was clean.

Tetralon had a solution that met the customer quality standards! They suggested the Wilden® PS4 1-1/2″Saniflo™ Hygienic™ Series (HS) clamped metal pump. Our Saniflo HS clamped metal pumps are engineered to meet or exceed the highest standards and requirements in the industry, including 3-A, ATEX, 1935/2004/EC, USP Class VI and FDA CFR 21.177. By addressing the customer's main concern to verify the cleanliness of the pump, the PS4 Saniflo HS ensures ease of use and maintenance by offering clean-in-place (CIP) and clean-out of-place (COP) capabilities! Additionally, Saniflo HS pumps are equipped with Tri-Clamp®-style fittings that have been designed with an eccentric cartridge check valve assembly, allowing for ease of maintenance by ensuring liquid chambers and pump manifold alignment. Lastly, Saniflo HS pumps are equipped with the Pro-Flo® SHIFT air distribution system so the customer also experiences improved efficiency by maximizing their Mean Time Between Repair (MTBR), achieves more yield per SCFM and saves on air consumption.

Tetralon did not allow the fun to stop there! They also equipped the PS4 Saniflo HS with Pure-Fuse Integral Piston Diaphragms (IPDs) - which work best for their cleanability, eliminates outer piston abrasion for longer life, increases durability, and provides superior flow and suction lift.

Rest assured, the quality team was able to attest the cleanliness of the Wilden PS4 pump while demonstrating efficiency along the way!

The next Wilden University: Advanced Class will take place on April 9-11 at the PSG facility in Grand Terrace, CA, USA. This three-day training event has been designed for pump veterans with at least three years of experience working with Wilden AODD pumps. During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with the engineers and sales team who design, build and specify Wilden pumps. In addition, attendees can also network with their peers and get specific questions answered while gaining detailed knowledge from our technical and professional support experts.
