2018 Year End Message from Erik Solfelt, Wilden Product Manager
This year was a time of significant progress and significant change. The global economies, generally, continued their strong level of growth accentuated by the US, which saw its lowest unemployment rate in the nearly 50 years. All of this was despite the uncertainty and increasing costs related to the global tariffs situation that has been playing out through the last year between the US and many other countries. For Wilden and PSG, specifically, the PSG Grand Terrace facility welcomed another company, Neptune, from its previous home in Pennsylvania.
The Wilden brand has taken many steps to grow even stronger in 2018 with some really exciting new products and changes:
- Release of the long-awaited ¼" (V2550) and ½" (V150) Velocity Series pumps featuring unparalleled mounting flexibility, leading suction lift and extremely low startup pressure
- Release of PS CSA pumps 0.5" and 1"
- Growing momentum on Chem-Fuse (+350% over 2017)
- Execution of a simplified, reorganized product strategy around customer value, including the release of new Wilden brochures
- Completed the obsolescence of PX models
- New and improved Team Wilden portal
- Release of Wilden CHOICE configuration and product selection software
- eCommerce platform that saw nearly 12 consecutive months of increased traffic and sales month-over-month
- Launch of Wilden's Competitive Comparison Central where we go head-to-head against our competition - highlighting parts count, max flow, air efficiency and annual operating cost
In addition to these improvements, Wilden conducted seven Wilden Universities with participants covering the entire globe and training over 150 people. Thank you to all the distributors who took time out of their busy schedules to come to the training.
As we come to the end of the year, I want to say thank you for all of your support and dedication to the Wilden product line. We believe the Wilden product offering is as strong as it's ever been and your continued support is a major reason. Looking forward to a great 2019!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Your Success is Our Success Heritage Frozen Foods in Edmonton
Heritage Frozen Foods, a pierogi plant located in Edmonton, Canada, was using a standard PX8/AAAAA/BNS/BN/ABN pump for pumping potato starch through their filter press. Unfortunately, Heritage Frozen Foods was experiencing a number of issues with the diaphragm and outer piston in their pump - going through 10-12 diaphragms per year and experiencing 5-6 pump repairs. As this point, they were ready to search for a different brand pump. However, John Brooks wanted Heritage Frozen Foods to give Wilden one more try before giving up.
John Brooks suggested that they try Pure-Fuse diaphragms, knowing that the integral piston design could be the solution to their diaphragm struggles. The Pure-Fuse one-piece design with no outer piston eliminated the cause of the failure, namely outer piston abrasion. The new diaphragms were installed in September 2017, and have not yet failed, making it over one year of life (!) vs the 2-3 months they were getting previously.
Heritage Frozen Foods has been satisfied by the longer diaphragm life and are extremely happy with the resolution. So much so that Heritage Frozen Foods purchased a complete new spare pump with Pure-Fuse diaphragms, upgrading to the Pro-Flo SHIFT XPS820/AZAAA/FWL/FW/FW.
Heritage Frozen Foods no longer needed to switch to a different brand - John Brooks' Wilden product expertise and customer service saved the day. Thank you John Brooks for your support!
